A watchtower, a visit center, museum and live cameras will be installed in the “Djeyran” reserve

    "Jayron" nature reserve was established in 1977 and is located in the South-West of the Kyzylkum desert, 42 km from Bukhara city. It has area of 16 000 hectares. The reserve specializes in breeding of rare and endangered species of gazelles. There are other species of animals and plants in the reserve, including those listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan and the International Red Book.

    These days a working group headed by Aziz Abduhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the State Committee for tourism development, have been visiting the "Jayron" nature reserve in Bukhara region and inspected the extend to which facilities in the region are prepared for the tourism season start.

    "The President of the country places big emphasis on the development of domestic tourism, and at the meeting that took part a day earlier he gave a number of instructions on the necassary measures for development of tourism overall and ecotourism in particular. Together with experts from the State Committee for Tourism Development and the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection, we visited the "Jayron" nature reserve and studied its potential to attract more tourists" said Aziz Abduhakimov.

    We are considering to create modern and tourist-friendly facilities such as a visit-center and a museum with international standards. In order to facilitate all visitors - domestic, foreign, invividual, in big groups, a detailed information based on the scientific research carried out in the reverse will be displayed and the history of its establishment will be told.

    A souvenir shop with related gazelles and other animals of the reserve will be built with the branded stores. A cafe will ve running so that people who visit the reserve can dine without leaving the place. In order to make it more convenient for foreign and local tourists, the reserve will be equipped with the necessary transport and equipments like safari cars and ATVs, CCTV, as well as photo traps for tourists who like to take photos," - Aziz Abduhakimov explained.

    Also, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, it is planned to create several observation towers and special themed routes along them on the territory of the reserve will be charted. This will allow visitors to watch animals any time of the day in their natural habitat without bothering them much.

    In addition, a special website will be created to promote the reserve as a new ecotourism destination, where virtual and 3D tours will be provided for free.

    Deputy Prime Minister also added that considering many people's interest in the introduction of a tradition of naming each new-born gazelle through online voting on the Internet.

    It should be noted that a special program is currently being developed to organize excursions for school children, college and university students to the "Jayron" reserve from every districts of Bukhara. Based on this program, scheduled visits of pupils and students will be conducted. At the same time, special tours will be developed at low prices for representatives of mahallas and trade unions in Bukhara and other regions.

    In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister invited everyone to visit the "Jayron" reverse and get acquainted with the life of these beautiful animals. It is also important to note that as a result of all the above, the "Jayron" ecotourism centre will have capacity to serve around 20,000 visitors a year.
