During the meeting, the British side was provided with information about the large-scale changes being implemented in Uzbekistan and the process of preparing for the upcoming elections to representative bodies of state power, the Dunyo news agency reports.
Charlie Walker highly appreciated the reforms carried out in recent years in the field of education in our country, the conditions created for young people to receive high-quality education and learn foreign languages.
It was noted that the British Council is interested in further expanding and strengthening cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of secondary and higher education, as well as in the field of art and culture.
The Deputy Director General welcomed the holding of the international conference on creative economy in Uzbekistan on October 2-4 and noted that the British Council would provide practical assistance in organizing this event at a high level.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on expanding the British Council's English language training programs in our country, as well as on the participation of its representatives in the Central Asian Education Forum, which will be held in Tashkent on October 15-17.
