For the first time, the delegation of Uzbekistan participates as an observer at the 62nd annual conference of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), which takes place on September 9-13 in Bangkok.

AALCO was founded in 1956 and is an intergovernmental legal advisory organization that includes 48 major countries in Asia and Africa. This structure has a great influence on the process of creating international law and forms the foundation of international law in cooperation with the United Nations International Law Commission (ILC), the Commission on Trade Law (UNCITRAL), The Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) and other international organizations, the Dunyo news agency reports.

At this year's meeting of the organization, member States discussed international legal topics related to current issues such as international trade and investment law, environment and sustainable development, and the use of outer space.

The delegation of Uzbekistan at the conference informed about the legal aspects of joining the international supply chain and entering the world market, environmental protection in the face of climate change, rational use of transboundary water resources, as well as international legal regulation and codification of space data.

On these issues, a meeting was held with the Secretary General of the AALCO Kamalinne Pinitsuvadol. Prospects for further cooperation between Uzbekistan and AALCO were also discussed at the meeting.
