The UAE delegation visited historical monuments and shrines of Samarkand

    The UAE delegation headed by the Executive Chairman of the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah, Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, visited a number of historical sites and monuments of Samarkand.

    In particular, the delegation visited the Shahi Zinda complex, the mausoleums of Gur Emir and Khoja Daniher, and the grave of Islam Karimov. The guests were also provided with information about the history of the era of Amir Timur and his mausoleum, and attention was focused on the development of science and culture during the Timurid period.

    The guests were greatly impressed by the tourist village of Konigil. The representatives of the delegation were interested in objects, traditions, values, national costumes and cuisine, telling about the centuries-old history of this place. The guests also visited the Afrosiab Museum, the Mirzo Ulugbek Observatory and the Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Center.

    The visit of the UAE delegation to ancient and modern Samarkand ended with a trip to the legendary Registan complex.

    "Our visit to Uzbekistan was unforgettable. We started our journey in the historical city of Bukhara, then visited Samarkand and here took part in the opening ceremony of an archaeological exhibition showing our common history. I am glad to meet the Uzbek people. I hope that I will come to your country more than once," Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi said.

    The Executive Chairman of the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah invited everyone to the exhibition, which opened in Samarkand.

    For information, during the visit to Uzbekistan, the delegation also visited Bukhara and visited several historical sites. In addition, a memorandum was signed with the administration of the Bukhara region. Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi also took part in the opening of the exhibition of archaeological finds of the Emirate of Sharjah in the Art Residence of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" in Samarkand and the opening of the exhibition "Samarkand is the cradle of the National Drama Theater" in the art gallery Art Station.
