Within the framework of the COP-29 conference, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, a contract was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and Masdar company from the United Arab Emirates for the implementation of a project for the construction of a 1000 MW wind farm in Uchkuduk district of Navoi region.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, 600 to 800 new jobs will be created during the construction of this power plant. As a result of the project, 3.5 billion kWh of electricity will be generated annually, which will save 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

This project is of great importance for Uzbekistan not only from an economic point of view, but also for environmental protection. Thanks to the construction of this wind farm, emissions into the atmosphere will be reduced by 1.4 million tons per year.

This wind farm is the next stage of cooperation with Masdar, providing Uzbekistan with the opportunity to increase energy security, create new jobs, and promote economic growth.

In line with the UAE's "Tripling Renewable Energy Capacity" initiative, we are joining global efforts to combat climate change, as well as supporting the goals of the Paris Agreement to expand global cooperation in the field of renewable energy and reduce emissions.

For reference: Masdar is a reliable and strategic partner of Uzbekistan. Within the framework of cooperation with the company, projects with a total capacity of 1,497 MW have already been implemented - a wind power plant in Zarafshan (500 MW), as well as solar photovoltaic plants in Karman (100 MW), Gallaaral (220 MW), Kattakurgan (220 MW) and Sheroboda (457 MW). In addition, as part of the implementation of major projects, work is underway on the construction of photovoltaic plants in the Alatsky district of the Bukhara region (250 MW) and the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region (300 MW). Today, these power plants make a huge contribution to the development of the renewable energy sector in Uzbekistan.
