He stressed that 2025 has become a crucial, results-oriented year in the WTO accession process.
In particular, negotiations on entering the bilateral market with 33 of the 34 WTO member states have been completed. As part of the process, more than 40 rounds of negotiations and 2 meetings of the Working Group were held, and more than 200 written questions were answered.
Agreements have been reached with such major trading partners as the European Union, China, Russia, Great Britain, Switzerland, Canada, and Australia. It is noted that currently only one bilateral dialogue is expected to be completed. This refers to Taiwan.
Meetings with the WTO Director General were also held within the framework of multilateral and high-level cooperation, as well as participation in important international events in New York, Washington and Geneva. 3 international conferences dedicated to Uzbekistan's economic reforms have been organized.
As part of bringing legislation into line with WTO requirements, 30 regulatory legal acts have been adopted.
The priorities for 2026 are the completion of one of the remaining bilateral negotiations, the completion of multilateral negotiations and the report of the Working Group, the full harmonization of legislation and the completion of the process of Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO.
It is noted that 2025 has once again demonstrated Uzbekistan's firm commitment to the rules-based international trading system and its commitment to the principles of openness and transparency. It was noted that the achieved results are the result of consistent support of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
