"Environmental issues: the future of human rights and the search for sustainable solutions in a changing world"

    This is the name of the next topic of the IV Samarkand Forum on Human Rights, a traditional international conference that will be held in our country on June 13-14, 2024. It is planned to hold three plenary sessions offline and online within the framework of the forum.

    The main purpose of the Samarkand Forum this year is to discuss issues related to the impact of climate change on human rights. In addition to gaining the necessary knowledge in this field, the participants of the international conference will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and familiarize themselves with the best practices of the international community.

    The Forum will focus on developing specific recommendations and solutions to mitigate the negative impact of climate change on human rights. The discussion is expected to serve as a forum for experts from various fields to develop effective strategies and approaches that will help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and protect the rights of all people in a changing climate.

    The national organizers of the forum are the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Development Strategy Center.

    Among the international co-organizers of the forum are the Office of the UN Permanent Coordinator in Uzbekistan, the OHCHR Regional Office for Central Asia, UNDP in Uzbekistan, the Office of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, as well as representative offices of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the. Konrad Adenauer in our country.

    It is planned that 200 experts will take part in the forum. In particular, domestic and foreign experts, climate experts, officials of government organizations dealing with climate change, representatives of civil society institutions, the media, research centers, companies, business circles and international organizations were invited.
