The Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

    On December 1, 2022, on the sidelines of the 29th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Lodz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) Margarita Söderfelt.

    The head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan congratulated M. Sederfelt on her re-election as the President of the Assembly in July this year.

    Issues of expanding cooperation between the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the OSCE PA were discussed.

    Vladimir Norov informed the OSCE PA Chairman about the dynamic broad-format democratic reforms being implemented in the New Uzbekistan, affecting almost all spheres of society.

    As noted, one of the main goals of the Development Strategy of the New Uzbekistan is to further enhance the role of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis and political parties in the consistent continuation of reforms in the country.

    An exchange of views took place on organizational aspects related to the holding of the autumn session of the OSCE PA in 2023 in Uzbekistan.

    The meeting also discussed certain issues of an international and regional nature, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
