Air purifiers to be exempted from customs duties

    A special laboratory aimed at in-depth study of ambient air will be established under the Ecology Committee to identify sources of atmospheric air pollution with PM 2.5 particles.

    This was announced in the Presidential Decree "On urgent measures to improve the ecological situation in the city of Tashkent."

    In accordance with the Decree, 347 automated stations for background monitoring of atmospheric air will be purchased through direct contracts by the end of 2025.

    The "Air Monitoring Tashkent" platform and 10 automatic stations belonging to the Tashkent city administration will be transferred to the management of the Ecology Committee. Based on these, a centralized unified platform called "Air Monitoring Uzbekistan" will be launched.

    The new platform will be fully connected to the 347 stations planned for purchase, all observation stations of the Hydrometeorological Service Agency and 23 automatic stations installed with the support of the "Zamin" Foundation.

    Furthermore, equipment and other accessories for this special laboratory, automated small stations (HS Code 9027), automatic monitoring stations for emissions (HS Code 9027), automatic observation posts (HS Code 9027), dust and gas cleaning equipment (HS Code 8421), local water treatment facilities (HS Code 8421), and domestic air cleaning equipment (HS Code 8509 80) imported into the territory of Uzbekistan by business entities and citizens will be exempted from customs duty.

    In addition, equipment and necessary accessories for the special laboratory, including a thermo-optical analyzer for conducting thermal-optical analyses and 5,000 quartz filters for collecting atmospheric air samples, will be purchased through direct contract by selecting the best offers.
