    Kyzylkum mountain sheep were caught in a camera trap installed in the Nurata State Reserve under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

    Nuratinsky State Reserve was established on January 10, 1975 in the Farish district of the Jizzakh region. The reserve is home to more than 250 species of animals, of which 31 species are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan. The most common species in the reserve is the Kyzylkum mountain sheep.

    The Kyzylkum mountain ram or Severtsov's ram is a vulnerable, shrinking, mosaic-like subspecies. It is included in the Red Book of Uzbekistan, the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Appendix II of CITES. It is widespread on the Nuratau and Aktau ridges, in the Tamdytau mountain range and on the Turkestan ridge. The total number is about 2000 individuals. Most of them live on the territory of the Nurata Nature Reserve, and their numbers have stabilized over the past 10 years. It has been living in the reserve since 1991.
