Prospects for further development of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation were discussed

    On April 16, 2024, the eighth meeting of the Subcommittee on Security Cooperation of the Uzbek-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee and the next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China were held in Beijing.

    The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Song Weidong.

    During the talks, the state and prospects of further development of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation were discussed. Special attention is paid to accelerating the implementation of the agreements reached following the results of the state visit to China in 2024.

    The Chinese side highly appreciated the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at improving public administration and the legislative sphere, liberalizing and modernizing the national economy.

    The meeting confirmed mutual interest in realizing the existing significant potential to strengthen partnership in the political, trade, economic, investment, military, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

    Proposals on increasing cultural, humanitarian and tourist exchanges were considered.

    Special attention is paid to the issues of enhancing cooperation between the parties within the framework of the United Nations and other international institutions. The sides also exchanged views on topical aspects of international and regional policy, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
