The event "Using digital and Intelligent Technologies to protect Women's Rights", held on March 11, was co-organized by China, Malaysia, Egypt, as well as UN Women and UNFPA.

Welcoming remarks at the event were made by high-ranking representatives of States and international organizations, including the head of the Chinese delegation, Deputy Minister and Deputy Chairman of the National Working Committee on Children and Women's Affairs at the State Council of the People's Republic of China Lin Yi, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations Dr. Ahmad Faisal Muhammad, member of the National Council for Women and Head of the African Alliance for the Empowerment of Women by Dr. Amani Asfour.

The event was attended by the Executive Director of UN Women, Sima Bacchus, and the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Diene Keita.

During the main session, Dilnoza Muratova, Deputy Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered a report. In her speech, she presented Uzbekistan's experience in promoting gender equality, protecting women's rights and empowering them in the context of digital transformation.

In particular, it was noted that Uzbekistan implements a comprehensive state policy aimed at ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, increasing women's digital literacy, increasing their participation in innovation and technology, and preventing digital violence and discrimination.

The representative of Uzbekistan stressed the importance of international cooperation in countering such challenges of the digital age as algorithmic gender bias, digital inequality and violence in the online space. The need to develop effective legal mechanisms and use modern technologies to ensure women's and girls' access to justice was noted.

During the event, participants exchanged the best international practices in using artificial intelligence, big data and other digital solutions to protect women's rights, improve the quality of social services and expand women's economic opportunities.

The Uzbek side's participation in the event confirmed the country's commitment to actively cooperate with the international community in promoting gender equality, as well as developing innovative approaches to protecting the rights and interests of women and girls.
