The President of Uzbekistan calls for enhancing practical partnership with Vietnam

    As part of the BRICS Summit in Kazan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh.

    The issues of developing multifaceted cooperation and practical interaction between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, primarily in the trade, economic, and investment spheres, were discussed.

    Giving a systemic character to intergovernmental and interdepartmental contacts was emphasized. The parties called for holding the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Issues, as well as a business forum and industrial exhibition in Hanoi early next year.

    To promote new projects, a program for the development of industrial cooperation in areas such as petrochemicals, electrical engineering, textile, agricultural, and other industries was proposed. Particular attention was paid to increasing business and tourism exchanges, including establishing a visa-free regime.

    The schedule of the upcoming contacts at various levels was considered. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invited the President of Uzbekistan to pay an official visit to Vietnam.
