During the meeting, the sides discussed in detail current issues related to protecting the rights and legal interests of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan performing labor activities in the Russian Federation.
The discussions included Uzbekistan's consuls general operating in various Russian regions, allowing for a detailed review of issues based on practical experience. The Russian side was represented by the leadership of the embassy's consular section, officials responsible for migration issues, and representatives of law enforcement agencies.
The Uzbek side emphasized that it is of fundamental importance to prevent any form of discrimination against the rights and human dignity of Uzbek citizens — both those following the law and those who have violated migration laws — during migration checks and raids.
The meeting confirmed both sides' desire to develop a pragmatic dialogue based on mutual respect aimed at regulating migration processes and creating favorable conditions for the legal labor activity of Uzbek citizens in Russia.
The parties also stressed the need for regular consular consultations and bilateral meetings to constantly improve practical cooperation.
