As part of the development of strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in the field of high technologies, the Almalyk branch of the National Research Technological University "MISIS" hosted a unique event - "Quantum Week in Uzbekistan".

This significant scientific and educational initiative is aimed at popularizing quantum technologies among schoolchildren, students and the scientific community. The event was attended by a number of foreign experts, including the Director General of the Russian Quantum Center M.Ostras, representatives of Rosatom — G.Palchikov and D.Sokol.

Quantum Weeks from Rosatom is an ecosystem project aimed at increasing the involvement of educational institutions, representatives of regional authorities, as well as development and business institutions in the current agenda of quantum technologies.

The program of the "Quantum Week" at NUST MISIS was extremely eventful and included lectures, master classes and practical exercises that were of interest to both students and specialists in the field of physics, engineering and new technologies. The participants were able to get acquainted with modern developments in the field of quantum computing, quantum communications and quantum cryptography, as well as discuss the possibilities of their application in industry and scientific research.

Special attention was paid to the interaction between Russia and Uzbekistan in the field of high technologies, as well as the contribution of scientific and educational institutions to the development of quantum research. Within the framework of the event, a number of lectures were held, including on the importance of quantum technologies in global science and education.

A special program was organized for students of secondary schools in Almalyk, which introduced them to the basics of quantum physics through simple and accessible examples. An important part of the event was an open dialogue between schoolchildren and scientists, which served as another factor for inspiring the younger generation to choose professions in the field of science and technology.

The event included not only an introduction to the basics of quantum technologies, but also events dedicated to stimulating the development of education and science in Uzbekistan. Quantum Week has become a significant contribution to the creation of strong ties between Russian and Uzbek scientists, as well as strengthening international cooperation in the field of high technologies.

It should be recalled that the implementation of this project began in 2024, and the first international event of Rosatom was held in Uzbekistan.
