Uzbekistan and Hungary leaders call for further enhancing full-scale cooperation

    The continuation of active and systemic political contacts, the acceleration of joint industrial cooperation projects, support for business and humanitarian initiatives, and other important issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed during a telephone conversation between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán.

    The Hungarian Prime Minister cordially congratulated the Leader of Uzbekistan on his convincing victory in the Early Presidential Election held the day before, sincerely wishing peace, well-being, and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.

    The dynamic development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary was noted with satisfaction. Regular political consultations have been established. In March this year, the embassy of Uzbekistan was opened in Budapest.

    The trade turnover is growing. The leading European bank OTP entered the banking and financial market.

    Joint projects are being worked out in agriculture, the food industry, pharmaceuticals, and other priority sectors. The total investment portfolio is $1.5 billion.

    During the telephone conversation, special attention was paid to the importance of working out specific measures to accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects and expand humanitarian and educational exchanges within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission’s activities.
