The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan met with the President of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand

    The Central Election Commission hosted a meeting between Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zayniddin Nizamkhodjayev and a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand headed by its President N. Mektrairat.

    The visit of the Thai delegation takes place within the framework of participation in an international conference in Tashkent on "Topical issues of constitutional reforms and the development of the Institute of Constitutional Control", as well as the ceremony of transferring the chairmanship of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and equivalent institutions from the Constitutional Court of Thailand to the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan.

    During the conversation, Z. Nizamkhodjayev spoke in detail about the large-scale democratic transformations being carried out in Uzbekistan, including measures to improve the electoral system and strengthen the political rights of citizens. He stressed that in recent years, special attention has been paid to ensuring transparency, openness and fairness of electoral processes.

    The head of the CEC also noted the importance of the constitutional amendments and their positive impact on the development of the electoral system and the activities of public authorities.

    In turn, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand, N. Mektrairat, highly appreciated the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring the rule of law. He noted the importance of interaction between the constitutional courts and the electoral authorities, united by a common goal - the observance of constitutional principles during elections.

    N. Mekbirat expressed readiness for constructive cooperation with the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan and stressed his interest in further expanding cooperation.

    The meeting was also attended by members of the Central Election Commission.
