The parliamentary elections, held for the first time in the country's history on the basis of a mixed electoral system, were met with great interest by the international community.
In addition, during the election campaign, it was clearly possible to see that the introduction of this system increased competition between political parties and democratization in society. More than 65,000 local observers observed the elections, over 850 foreign and international observers, as well as more than 1,000 representatives of local and foreign media took part in extensive coverage of this important political event.
On October 28 of this year, the Central Election Commission announced the preliminary results of the elections.
Based on this, a regular meeting of the Central Election Commission was held on October 29.
Due to the fact that 74.72% of registered voters took part in the elections, and each of the political parties that participated in the elections received more than seven percent of the votes of voters who took part in these elections, the elections of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis in a single electoral district held on October 27, 2024 were recognized as valid and valid.
Also, based on the protocols of territorial election commissions determining the votes given to political parties, the issue of determining the results of elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis in a single electoral district and the distribution of deputy mandates among political parties was considered.
The Central Election Commission summed up the results of the elections to the Legislative Chamber and the distribution of parliamentary mandates among political parties were carried out in the following order.
In accordance with article 961 of the Electoral Code, the electoral coefficient was determined by dividing the total number of votes cast for political parties that received seven percent or more of the votes of voters who participated in the elections by seventy-five, that is: 14 946 171 ÷ 75 = 199 282,28.
In accordance with this, the electoral coefficient was set at 199,282.
Thus, 75 seats of the Legislative Chamber in a single electoral district were distributed among political parties in the following order:
- Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People - Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan - 26 seats;
- Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party - 14;
- People's Democratic Party - 13;
- Social Democratic Party "Adolat" - 12;
- Ecological Party of Uzbekistan - 10.
Based on the above distribution, the protocol of the Central Election Commission was drawn up and approved by the relevant resolution.
In addition, the resolution defines the direction of notifications to political parties, among which deputy mandates are distributed, and deputies elected on party lists.
Then the Central Election Commission will register them as deputies of the Legislative Chamber.
