President visits a mahalla in Tashkent’s Sergeli district

    President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Sakhovat mahalla in Sergeli district.

    The area of ​​the mahalla, created in 2016, is 18 hectares. More than 6 thousand people live in 41 apartment buildings. There is a school and two preschool institutions here.

    Before, the mahalla was in a deplorable state. This year, within the framework of “Obod Mahalla” (Prosperous Neighborhood) program, the territory of the mahalla was fully landscaped. The mahalla guzar, the Sakhovat park and shops were erected. Sidewalks have been improved, playgrounds and a parking lot have been arranged.

    The Head of the state got acquainted with the construction and landscaping activities.

    Social problems in the mahalla are being addressed. Housing and subsidies are provided to individual people in need. A project worth 5 billion UZS is being implemented to employ unemployed women and youth. In particular, it is planned to launch an enterprise for the production of furniture. The Head of the state also visited a grocery store in the mahalla.

    In a conversation with residents, they talked about the changes taking place today, the value of peace and tranquility.

    “We have built many houses in Sergeli. New enterprises are being created. These changes must be felt in people’s lives. Now every mahalla of the district should become such a comfortable one. People should walk and improve their health, live happily – this is our goal. Your happiness is my happiness”, the President said.

    This year, 1.3 trillion UZS have been allocated to Tashkent within the framework of Obod Mahalla program. 937 kilometers of drinking water supply networks, gas pipelines and power grids, sewerage systems, 545 kilometers of internal roads will be built and repaired in mahallas.
