The Head of the state visited Mr. Abbos Appanov in Almazar district of Tashkent city.
Mr. Appanov was born in 1924 in Tashkent. In February 1942, he went to war and participated in fierce battles for Smolensk, then in Belarus, Poland and Germany. Returning from the war in 1946, he taught German and English for many years at the secondary school of the Achaobod mahalla, as well as wrote a German textbook for primary schoolchildren.
The merits of Abbos Appanov were worthily appreciated, he was awarded many state awards.
“I came to see you, to have a cordial conversation, to wish you good health. First of all, I congratulate you and, in your person, all the war participants, our people on this holiday. I wish you to continue, in good health, to be our light and an example for young people”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“By the grace of the Almighty, thanks to the care and kindness of the Head of our state, we have lived to this age. May Allah give you strength and success in your good deeds for the benefit of our people. Thank you for your attention”, Mr. Appanov said.
“You deserve such respect. Honoring the elders is our great value. We continue to do so. Let our youth know and follow this example”, the President said.
The veteran’s children are already retired, he has 21 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
The Head of the state also visited Fyodor Fedin, who lives in Yashnabad district.
Fyodor Semenovich was born in 1927 in Russia’s Mordovia. In 1944 he was drafted into the army, during which he served as a signalman and instructor. He participated in the battles near Minsk. After the war, he served in China for several years. In 1949 he arrived in Tashkent and began working at an aircraft factory. He has many labor awards. He and his wife raised two daughters.
The President inquired about the veteran’s health and living conditions. Thanked him for his contribution to the current peaceful days and many years of fruitful work.
The Head of the state also visited Mr. Akmal Akromov, who lives in Mirzo Ulugbek district.
Mr. Akromov was born in 1924 in Tashkent. After graduating from school in 1941, he went to work at a machine-building plant. From 1942 he fought at the front and was seriously wounded.
Returning from the war, the veteran worked in trade and the food industry. In retirement, he headed the Tashkent City Society of War and Labor Veterans, the city branch of the Nuroniy Foundation.
“You have come a long way – you participated in the war, showed heroism, after the war you worked fruitfully, raised your grandchildren, and lived to this venerable age. Your life, your every word is a school for us. I wish you good health, long life”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
Mr. Akromov, on behalf of all war veterans, expressed sincere wishes to the Head of the state.
