The President visits the Higher Military Aviation School

    President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Higher Military Aviation School.

    The school was established in 1994. However, Jizzakh, where it was previously located, did not have enough conditions for training pilots.

    In 2018, when the Head of state visited the Khanabad military airfield in Karshi district, he proposed to effectively use the airfield’s capabilities to train military pilots. So the Higher Military Aviation School was relocated to the city of Karshi in 2019. The training buildings were equipped with modern simulators, equipment and information technologies.

    This allows cadets to conduct training in the management and maintenance of combat aircraft at Khanabad airfield, as well as conduct flight training directly at the training grounds. The pre-flight training center and information resource center, training laboratories in 4 specialties serve to improve the level of professionalism of military pilots.

    At the disposal of cadets, there are cultural centers for 120 places, a hostel for 400 places, a kitchen, a drill training ground and a sports town. 276 cadets are studying here.

    The President got acquainted with the conditions at the school. In a conversation with young people, the importance of mastering foreign languages and modern technologies along with the specialty was emphasized.

    “Defense speaks about the strength of each state. Defense is provided by people like you who are educated, purposeful, persistent military, engineers and pilots. To be worthy of this title, you need to constantly study, work on yourself and comprehensively improve your skills”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

    The Supreme Commander-in-Chief dined with the cadets in the canteen of the school. Observed sports and educational activities. A demonstration flight of military aviation took place in the sky above the school with the participation of fighters, attack aircraft, transport aircraft and combat helicopters.

    Responsible persons were instructed to further strengthen air defense based on the challenges observed in the world, to establish an experimental assembly of unmanned aerial vehicles. The need was noted for improving the activities of the school, taking into account these factors, the implementation of joint educational programs with foreign institutions.
