The large complex, covering 2.5 hectares, includes more than 53,000 square meters of retail and commercial space. Thanks to $14 million in foreign investment, several international brands are operating at the site.

Overall, more than 100 retail outlets have been opened within the complex, creating around 500 jobs. The center is expected to receive up to 2.5 million visitors annually.

The architectural and design concept of the complex, with a total cost of $43 million, won first place at an international architectural competition held this year among CIS countries.

The Head of State also visited the bookstore located in the center, where he spoke with representatives of publishing houses and young readers.

The importance of developing the publishing industry and book trade, widely promoting a culture of reading from an early age, expanding the publication of scientific and fiction literature, and developing measures to support publishers was emphasized.

An open and sincere conversation was held with representatives of the capital’s community, older residents, and young people.

“All the achievements we are making in all spheres are, first and foremost, the result of peace in our country and the unity of our people. Our capital is becoming increasingly well-developed and beautiful every day. International guests particularly note this. Much depends on unity. Its roots lie, above all, in our mahallas. A fair assessment is given by the people themselves, precisely in the mahalla. That is why we began our work aimed at ensuring people’s well-being at the very grassroots level”, the President emphasized.

During the visit, the Head of State was presented with the activities of the IT company Unicon-Soft, whose office is located in the center.

It was noted that, due to favorable national conditions and incentives in information technology, the participation of national software developers is steadily expanding in areas such as the digitalization of public administration, the development of telecommunications infrastructure, and IT education.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to ensure the effective organization of public administration in the field of digital technologies within the framework of administrative reforms”, the main directions of digital transformation of sectors, industries, and regions have been defined.

Unicon-Soft is also contributing to the implementation of these tasks. Founded in 2017, the company has to date developed and implemented more than 70 information systems nationwide.

The company has branches for implementing and providing technical support for information systems across all regions and 208 districts (cities) nationwide. It employs more than 1,500 staff members, 80 percent of whom are young people.

At present, Unicon-Soft plans to develop new software and hardware solutions, participate in the digitalization of the customs sector, and launch the “Digital Mahalla” platform. The President reviewed a presentation of the company’s projects in these areas.

Following the review, recommendations were provided to develop domestic IT product production, enhance young people’s knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence, and accelerate digitalization across government activities.

The President also became familiar with the ongoing improvement works and modern infrastructure on Rikhsiliy Street in Yunusabad district.

The engineering and transport infrastructure along a two-kilometer section of the street has been comprehensively upgraded. Round-the-clock shops, restaurants, and entertainment facilities have also opened there, creating 650 jobs.

On average, around 35,000 vehicles travel along the street daily. Taking this into account, measures were taken to ensure public safety and improve traffic convenience. In particular, 39,000 square meters of pedestrian walkways were constructed, nearly 100 video surveillance cameras were installed, and approximately 10 emergency call buttons were installed.
