    On March 21, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

    The President of Russia cordially congratulated the President of Uzbekistan and the multinational people of the country on the holiday of spring and renewal – Navruz, sincerely wishing well-being and prosperity.

    Uzbekistan and Russian leaders also exchanged warm congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

    It was noted with particular satisfaction that in recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia has reached an unprecedented high level of strategic partnership and alliance.

    There are effective mechanisms for practical interaction and a close dialogue has been established in its most important areas. Trade turnover is steadily growing. Last year, the trade turnover reached $7.5 billion, and since the beginning of this year, it has grown by 50 percent.

    Priority investment projects are being implemented. The volume of Russian investments in the economy of Uzbekistan is about $ 10 billion. There are more than 2 thousand joint ventures.

    A representative delegation of Russia is expected to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum to be held this week.

    Active cultural and humanitarian exchange continues.

    Prospects for further development and strengthening of multifaceted bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, industrial cooperation, including with the involvement of leading enterprises of the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, were discussed during the conversation.

    The importance of continuing intensive contacts and coordinated work of the ministries and agencies of the two countries aimed at full-scale implementation of the agreements reached the highest level was noted.

    The Presidents exchanged views on the regional and international agenda, including the current situation around Ukraine.

    The telephone conversation between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia took place in a traditionally friendly and trusting atmosphere.
