In January-October of this year, more than 6.5 million foreign citizens visited the Republic of Uzbekistan for tourist purposes. Compared to the same period last year, this figure increased by 951.3 thousand people or 17.2%.
The main part of the tourist flow was accounted for by citizens of Tajikistan - 1,878.5 thousand people. Next are Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan - 1,870,3 thousand and 1,267,5 thousand, respectively.
In addition, the top 10 included Russia (686.7 thousand), Turkmenistan (145 thousand), Turkey (95.7 thousand), China (57.7 thousand), India (55.9 thousand), South Korea (36.5 thousand), Italy (36.3 thousand) and other countries (366.6 thousand).
On December 19, 2024, as part of the implementation of the instruction of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to attract 1 million Chinese tourists per year, the opening ceremony of a new flight on the Tashkent - Sanya -Tashkent route of the Qanot Sharq airline was held at the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.
The delegation of Uzbekistan with the status of a "partner country" took part in the annual meeting of the Global Tourism Forum, organized by the Institute of the World Tourism Forum in Brussels, Belgium.
Today, the possibilities of medical and wellness tourism are being effectively used in our country. Clusters of medical tourism and modern hotel-type sanatoriums have been created. These places play an important role not only in restoring health, but also in medical tourism for foreign tourists.
