Uzbekistan and Yakutia discussed promising areas of cooperation in the field of tourism

    The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the first Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Tourism Jamshid Abdusalamov in Yakutia held talks with the head of the Republic of Sakha Aisen Nikolaev.

    The meeting discussed promising areas of cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Yakutia. It was noted that Uzbekistan has a huge historical and cultural potential in the field of tourism. As part of the "Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in Russia", events are being held in the far regions of Russia to promote the tourism potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan and increase mutual tourist flows.

    The parties also discussed promising areas of cooperation in organizing mutual student and school tourism. In particular, it is proposed to create joint educational programs and exchanges, which will allow students and schoolchildren of both republics to learn more about each other's culture and history, as well as strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between young people.

    Last year, the number of foreign tourists who visited the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to about 10.2 million people, of which 850,000 were citizens of the Russian Federation. Uzbekistan is expecting more than 1 million guests from Russia this year.
