State Security Service: the introduction of counterfeit banknotes in the amount of almost 361 million soums has been suppressed

    Counterfeiting and the introduction of monetary values into circulation is considered one of the problems that threaten the economic security of the country. In turn, the bodies of the State Security Service are actively fighting against such threats.

    In particular, as part of an operational event conducted by employees of the Department of the State Security Service in the Navoi region, a Cobalt motor vehicle driven by a resident of Tashkent, born in 1996, was stopped and examined in the presence of witnesses.

    As a result, counterfeit banknotes with a nominal value of 100,000 soums for a total amount of 221 million 100 thousand soums were found in the trunk of the car and processed in a procedural manner.

    The operational event was continued, as a result, 5 of his criminal accomplices, residents of Navoi and Bukhara regions, were also detained, from whom counterfeit banknotes worth 139 million 800 thousand soums were seized in accordance with the established procedure.

    As a result of operational actions, the introduction into circulation of counterfeit money totaling 360 million 900 thousand soums was stopped.

    Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these persons under the relevant article of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
