The next meeting of the Negotiating Group on Work with the World Trade Organization (WTO) took place

    On December 14 of this year, a regular meeting of the Negotiating Group on Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Badriddin Abidov.

    During the event, the current state of execution of the instructions of the head of the Interdepartmental Commission for Work with the WTO, measures to accelerate the completion of bilateral negotiations with the Organization's member countries were discussed, and reports of the heads of thematic working groups were heard.

    It was stressed that at the present stage, ministries and departments need to accelerate the process of developing additional negotiating positions based on the updated proposals of the WTO member countries on access to the market of goods and services.

    In addition, specific tasks have been identified to promote the next rounds of bilateral negotiations with WTO member countries on market access for goods and services, as well as consultations with the Organization's Secretariat for the timely implementation of previously reached agreements.

    At the same time, the meeting conducted a critical assessment of the activities of each specialist in thematic working groups involved in the accession process, including the preparation of system documents and negotiating positions, as well as their implementation.

    Following the meeting, the thematic working groups were instructed to hold weekly workshops on the relevant areas of the agenda and to develop proposals for the effective and high-quality organization of further negotiations in the process of the republic's accession to the WTO, the press service of the MIFT reports.
