Over 1.3 thousand pilgrims died during the Hajj this year

    More than 1.3 thousand pilgrims have died this year during the Hajj to Muslim holy sites in Saudi Arabia, the kingdom's Minister of Health Fahd al-Jalajil said on Sunday evening on the Saudi TV channel Al-Ikhbariya.

    "During the Hajj, 1,301 pilgrims died of natural causes, more than 83% of them were not registered," he said.

    The minister said that 95 sick pilgrims who were not registered are still being treated in hospitals in the kingdom, some of them had to be transported by air to the capital Riyadh for treatment, RIA Novosti reports.

    In total, during the Hajj, Saudi Arabia's doctors provided emergency medical care to the pilgrims 30 thousand times, 6.5 thousand beds were deployed in places of rites.

    The Hajj in Saudi Arabia ended at the end of the week.
