A team of astronomers from Australia, Great Britain, Denmark and the USA has discovered the potentially habitable planet HD137010b, which is located at a distance of 146 light-years from Earth. This was reported on January 29 by The Guardian newspaper with reference to the study.
According to the publication, the planet orbits a star similar to the Sun, and scientists estimate that HD137010b is only 6% larger than Earth. This star is colder and dimmer than the Sun, so the temperature on the planet can drop to -70 degrees, the publication noted. According to one of the authors of the research, Dr. Chelsea Huang, the planet may become the highest priority object for observation in the future.
