USAID launches grant program to support key sectors of the economy in Uzbekistan

    On September 16, 2024, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announced the start of accepting applications as part of its business support project.

    The initiative aims to improve the business environment and stimulate growth in key sectors, including textiles, tourism, green economy and information and communication technologies (ICT).

    The grant program will support a wide range of organizations, including small and medium-sized enterprises, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other structures that promote economic growth and social inclusion. USAID pays special attention to financing projects aimed at supporting women, youth and vulnerable groups.

    The amount of grants will range from $25,000 to $100,000, subject to co-financing. USAID will finance 50 percent of the project cost for most businesses. For projects focused on supporting women, youth and vulnerable groups, USAID can fund up to 80 percent of the costs.

    This grant initiative is part of a five-year USAID business support project aimed at promoting inclusive economic growth in Uzbekistan. The project contributes to the development of a dynamic, innovative and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem that stimulates long-term economic development.
