At a presentation held in the Ferghana region, USAID announced that it is implementing a five-year initiative to improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in four key sectors: information and communication technology (ICT), tourism, textile industry and green economy.
The project aims to achieve two main goals, including reducing barriers to private sector growth.
- This initiative represents a key moment in our joint pursuit of prosperity, inclusivity and a sustainable future for Uzbekistan. By helping to address critical barriers to growth and harnessing the dynamism of the private sector, we strive to open up new business opportunities, especially for enterprises led by women and youth," said David Hoffman, Director of the USAID Mission in Uzbekistan.
