Uzbekistan was represented at the World Medical Congress in Paris

    The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the XXIV World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the International Federation of Gynecology (FIGO). It took place in Paris on October 9-12.

    More than 8 thousand delegates representing more than 130 countries of the world took part in this year's leading and largest global event in the field of gynecology and obstetrics.

    Uzbekistan at the XXIV FIGO World Congress was represented by specialists of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health, Chairman and board members of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Uzbekistan.

    "One of the priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of healthcare is the protection of maternal and child health, strengthening the reproductive health of the population, increasing the availability of medical care, including primary health care, the development of scientific and human potential. A number of state programs are being implemented, the results of which should be the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. In this regard, the country's specialists are constantly studying the best international practices, which this Congress contributes to," says Natalia Nadyrkhanova, member of the Board of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Uzbekistan.

    Uzbekistan is also actively sharing its own positive experience. In particular, in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, systematic work has been carried out in recent years to develop and implement national guidelines and standards of medical care. They are based on modern scientific evidence and are aimed at unification in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment of obstetric and gynecological diseases. This makes it possible to significantly improve the quality of care for women and children, the growth of positive dynamics in solving the most pressing problems.

    During these days, the scientific community working at the Paris Conference Center demonstrated its commitment to women's health and reproductive rights, health equality and social justice.

    In five days, about 500 experts shared their best practices, discussions were held on five parallel streams, public events were held where experts could communicate and exchange opinions. The work was also carried out through exhibition stands, dynamic classes, including surgical demonstrations and practical simulation laboratories.

    Uzbekistan has been a member of the International Federation of Gynecology since 2014. In total, FIGO today includes 130 member societies.

    The main goal of the International Federation is to implement the mission to strengthen the health and well-being of women around the world, as well as to improve the quality of medical care. FIGO has more than 10 committees and working groups whose sphere of interests includes all topical issues of obstetrics and gynecology, the development of recommendations available to all countries.
