"The Republic of Uzbekistan is deeply concerned about the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Middle East. We believe that further escalation could lead to an unprecedented increase in security risks and threats in the vast region with unpredictable consequences for the entire international community," the statement said.

The ministry called on the warring parties to show restraint and refrain from actions that could lead to an even greater escalation of tension.

"The Uzbek side once again notes the need to take immediate measures for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in accordance with international norms and decisions of the United Nations Security Council," the Foreign Ministry concluded.
