The documents provide for strategic cooperation with a large Chinese engineering company Sinohydro Co., Ltd., which became the winner of open tender procedures, confirming compliance with technical and qualitative requirements, as well as significant industry experience.

According to the agreement, the modernization of the Shakhrikhan HPP cascade (HPP-5A and HPP-6A) in the Andijan region will be implemented on the EPC-turnkey basis. This means performing a full range of work: design, construction, supply of equipment and commissioning of facilities.

After the completion of the project, the total installed capacity of the stations will increase from 7.6 MW to 16.4 MW. Additional electricity generation will amount to about 33 million kWh per year, which will provide electricity to more than 13 thousand households. It is also expected to save 11 million cubic meters of natural gas and over 27.5 thousand tons of coal annually.

The company notes that the modernization will increase the efficiency of the plants, strengthen the energy security of the region and increase the production of environmentally friendly energy.

The implementation of the project will also be an important step in the development of international cooperation and the introduction of modern technologies in the hydropower industry of Uzbekistan.
