Uzbekistan and Latvia discussed the development of bilateral cargo transportation

    First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamanbiy Omarov met with representatives of the delegation headed by Advisor to the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Latvia Janis Meyrans.

    At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the development of bilateral cargo transportation between Uzbekistan and Latvia, problems arising in this direction, and their solutions.

    Currently, the importance of the route passing through the ports of Latvia is increasing in the expansion of trade relations between Uzbekistan and the countries of the European Union. It was with this in mind that the meeting considered aspects related to the effective use of the potential of Latvia's port infrastructure.

    The parties also exchanged views on the implementation of the electronic exchange of permit forms (E-permit) between the countries in order to speed up the process of cargo transportation.
