Based on the indicative letter from the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the organization of measures to prevent the introduction of smallpox of monkeys from abroad and prevent its spread", a number of sanitary and propaganda events are planned at the country's airports.

In particular, seminars for airport medical workers on etiology, clinic, epidemiology, diagnosis and prevention of smallpox of monkeys are planned on August 20-21 in cooperation with the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare at Civil Aviation facilities.

Sanitary and propaganda work with employees aimed at preventing the disease of smallpox of monkeys has also been strengthened at all international airports of the republic.

In particular, airport employees will be given information about this disease in a simplified form, and they will show how certain symptoms visually manifest themselves. In addition, the sanitary quarantine service permanently installs thermal imagers at airports that remotely detect passengers with high temperatures.

The Department for the development of medical support of Uzbekistan Airports, citing WHO data, assured that the new strain of this disease is spreading mainly in African countries unrelated to direct flights with Uzbekistan.
