The Khoja Nasreddin Festival was held in the German capital, organized by the embassies of Central Asian countries, Iran and Pakistan accredited in Germany in cooperation with the organization "Cultur-Cooperation Int. e.V.".

The event brought together German officials, heads of diplomatic missions, residents of Berlin, representatives of the media, as well as diplomats and their family members. The Embassy of our country acted as one of the organizers, presenting the rich culture and art of the Uzbek people, the Dune news agency reports.

At the opening ceremony of the festival, welcoming remarks were made by representative of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jens Wagner, Mayor of the Berlin administrative district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf Maren Schellenberg and representative of the parliamentary group on educational policy of the CDU party Sandra Khalatbari. They stressed that this cultural festival plays an important role in the formation of cultural dialogue and strengthening friendship between peoples.

It was also noted that anecdotes about Nasreddin, widely spread in the East and translated into European languages, carry the spirit of wisdom and wit, which is especially relevant in our time. All participating countries sent greetings in their native languages.

As part of the festival dedicated to Khoja Nasreddin, the hero of Oriental culture, the participants demonstrated their cultural programs, including songs, dances and theatrical performances. Our country presented the play "Khoja Nasreddin in Bukhara", performed by amateur artists under the direction of Hafiza Kuchkarova, as well as the famous song of the group "Yalla" about Nasreddin and traditional Uzbek dances. The children were particularly attracted by the game "Afandi Riddles", in which the winners received national souvenirs brought from Uzbekistan.

The stands of the participating countries were decorated in a national style, offering visitors to enjoy traditional pastries and sweets, which immersed them in the atmosphere of the East.

At the stand of Uzbekistan, guests could get acquainted with Uzbek national costumes, handicrafts, silk fabrics and traditional utensils. Tapchans and khantakhts decorated with Uzbek ornaments aroused special interest among visitors, and handouts and brochures introduced them to the tourist potential of our country.

Mayor of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district, Maren Schellenberg, shared her impressions of the festival:

    - We are very pleased that today, at the festival of culture and friendship, the embassies of seven countries are holding the Khoja Nasreddin Festival in our administrative district. This event provided the residents of Berlin with the opportunity to learn about the peoples and cultures of these countries. We are especially pleased that Uzbekistan has demonstrated its rich national and cultural heritage. Although I have not been to Uzbekistan myself, thanks to this event, I have a clearer idea of your country. I wish everyone success in the upcoming parliamentary elections, because they play a key role in shaping a democratic society.
