It is worth noting that the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan was established on the initiative of more than 300 orientalists around the world in 2018, in 2019 it was officially registered in Paris, and this year it opened an office in Tashkent. At the Congresses, members of the World Society discuss the results of the work for the year and make plans for the future.
Congresses are a traditional annual event of the World Society, which currently unites about 300 scientists from more than 40 countries and is supported by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the government of the country.
The central event of all Congresses is the presentation of the books-albums of the series "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world" in Uzbek, Russian and English. These books contain valuable information about the masterpieces of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage and are dedicated to the collections of more than 30 countries around the world.
Every year, the World Society, with the support of socially responsible Business, publishes 10 volumes of this series.
This year, 10 new books-albums from the series "Cultural Heritage in the Collections of the World" (volumes 61-70) will be presented at the Congress. Among them are albums dedicated to collections of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage from Azerbaijan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia (including Tatarstan), Turkey and Uzbekistan.
Also, the Congress participants will be presented with other publishing projects of the World Society - albums "Historical figures in Oriental miniature", "Clavijo: Diary of a trip to Samarkand to the court of Timur (1403-1406)", "Ceramics of Rishtan", "Masterpieces of art of Uzbekistan", "Near the shores of the Aral Sea and Amu: the art of the Karakalpaks", "Encyclopedia of artistic terms", as well as planned publications on the topics "Encyclopedia of ornaments", "Carpets of Uzbekistan", projects "114 Korans", "100 outstanding manuscripts of the East".
The scientific part of the upcoming Congress will consist of 5 international conferences, at which about 120 scientific reports will be heard. These are the conferences "Discovering new facets of heritage: Uzbek collections in the collections of the world", "Masterpieces of the handwritten heritage of the East in the projects of the World Society", "Museums and Libraries of Central Asia in the projects of the World Society", "History and Art of Central Asia: searches and discoveries" and "The World of cinema and Media: A new look at heritage".
Holding a separate conference on cinema is no coincidence: at a video conference held on October 11 this year under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the task of creating feature films, documentaries about the history and culture of Uzbekistan was set.
The upcoming conference will discuss new mechanisms for combining the creative and production capabilities of film organizations of the TURKSOY countries to create films about the history and historical figures of Uzbekistan. There will be a discussion of topics for further co-production between the countries of the Turkic world with the participation of the heads of film organizations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan. The heads of film organizations of these countries are also scheduled to participate in the Congress in order to present new film projects related to the popularization of their cultural heritage.
