On October 15, the first seven vehicles left Kashgar on this route. Their arrival in Uzbekistan is scheduled for October 21, and in Turkmenistan on October 24. Some of the cargo will be further delivered from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, the Dune news agency reports.
Director of the Department of Transport Services of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China Cai Tuanjie noted that the launch of the China-Kyrgyzstan -Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan route reflects the desire of the leaders of Central Asian countries and China to actively develop cooperation.
According to him, the corridor will contribute to the economic growth of the participating countries, increase the volume of mutual transportation and promote the "One Belt, One Road" initiative. The new route opens access not only to European markets, but also to the markets of South Asia and the Middle East.
