The presentation of US grants in the field of economic development took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

    On February 1, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, organized a presentation of ongoing and planned to launch U.S. grants in the field of economic development.

    The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Madrakhimov, Director of the mission of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Uzbekistan David Hoffman, representatives of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan involved in the joint implementation of projects of USAID and other U.S. agencies.

    A substantive exchange of views took place on organizational and other aspects related to the implementation of projects aimed at developing agribusiness, promoting entrepreneurship and improving the business climate, improving water resources management and environmental protection, and expanding partnership in Central Asia in the trade, economic and energy fields.

    The meeting also discussed prospects for deepening cooperation in 2024-2025, and outlined joint tasks to increase the effectiveness of the above-mentioned projects, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
