    A round table on the topic "Uzbekistan - Belarus: a time-tested partnership" was held in the press center of the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA).

    Representatives of a number of ministries, departments and various organizations of Belarus took part in it, the Dune news agency reports.

    During the event, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Rakhmatulla Nazarov drew the attention of the participants to the fact that at the end of last year our countries achieved positive macroeconomic indicators and spoke in detail about the development of Uzbekistan.

    "The economy of Uzbekistan grew by 6% in 2023 to 90.8 billion US dollars. GDP per capita increased to $2,468. According to the results of last year, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover reached $ 62.6 billion, an increase of 23.9% compared to 2022. Our country is developing dynamically and is one of the largest economies in the region. Uzbekistan is a worthy partner of Belarus," the ambassador said.

    In addition, he drew attention to a significant increase in investment activity. As the diplomat stressed, the economy of Uzbekistan demonstrates activity and stability, as well as the economy of Belarus.

"The preparations for the visit were enormous," the diplomat said, noting that the summit was preceded by expanded negotiations with the participation of relevant ministers, heads of regions and industries of the two countries.
