General Director of AeroTour Nadejda Koshnenkova, welcoming the guests, noted the high growth rate of interest in Uzbekistan among Russian travelers. She also drew attention to the stable development of infrastructure and special conditions created for the development of tourism in Uzbekistan, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to support and further develop tourist flows.
In turn, Consul General Abdurakhmon Makhmudov in his speech stressed the importance of developing tourism cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan and expressed the Uzbek side's interest in increasing the flow of tourists from Russia.
He confirmed the Consulate General's readiness to promote cultural ties and invited Russian tourists to visit Uzbekistan, noting the importance of tourism not only for the economy, but also for strengthening public diplomacy and mutual understanding between the countries.
To date, regular flights to eight cities of Uzbekistan are operated from St. Petersburg. Flights are operated by Uzbek airlines - Uzbekistan Airways, Qanot Sharq, Tashkent Air and Centrum Air, as well as the Russian carrier Utair.
Representatives of Uzbekistan Airways in St. Petersburg invited the participants of the event to evaluate the high standards of service provided by the national airline and take advantage of a convenient route network in Uzbekistan, designed with the interests of tourists in mind. They noted that Uzbekistan Airways is actively working to improve the level of comfort and quality of service, which makes it a priority choice for Russian tourists wishing to visit Central Asia.
Vadim Kasyanov, Deputy General Director of AeroTur, emphasized in his speech that cities such as Tashkent, Samarkand and Urgench are confidently among the top 20 most popular international routes from Pulkovo Airport. This indicates a high demand for flights between St. Petersburg and Uzbekistan, driven by both business and tourist trips, as well as active cultural and economic ties.
In addition, information was provided on popular routes from Uzbekistan to St. Petersburg, as well as convenient connections to cities in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. It was noted that according to the results of the first half of the year, Uzbekistan Airways ranks second in the ranking of the top 20 airlines for international flights from Pulkovo Airport.
At the end of the event, AeroTur presented new opportunities for the B2B segment for the sale of Uzbekistan Airways air tickets, and also announced the preparation of a study tour for travel agents to popular cities in Uzbekistan.
