Factories of world brands will be launched in Tashkent

    On June 26, Tashkent Khokim Shavkat Umurzakov met with a delegation from Tianjin, China, headed by Li Kuanli, Vice Governor of Dongling District of Tianjin.

    The meeting, which took place in the new industrial zone "Yangi avlod" in Yangihaet district, was attended by the khokim of Yangihaet district X. Inogamov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Toshkent Invest Companyasi B. Shakirov, First Deputy Head of the Department of Investment, Industry and Trade of Tashkent A. Shavkatov and other specialists.

    Sh. Umurzakov expressed gratitude for the visit and said that currently, at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a favorable climate has been created in Uzbekistan, and in particular in Tashkent, for both foreign investors and local entrepreneurs.

    Foreign companies are actively developing their business in Tashkent, and the largest share of participation in the market belongs to investors from China. The Tashkent Khokimiyat is interested in cooperation on projects in the field of infrastructure development, electricity supply, construction and launch of social facilities.

    Currently, on the territory of the Yangi Avlod industrial zone, which covers an area of more than 750 hectares, it is planned to launch BYD, JAC, Bosheng plants, as well as the organization of the DP World logistics center, which is among the top largest companies in the world in this area. It also provides for the creation of clusters for the production of building materials, electrical engineering and food. Due to its location near the international mainline railway and highway, the industrial zone attracts major market participants, in particular, Pepsi and Nestle companies plan to establish their production here. It is noteworthy that the turnover of most of the above-mentioned companies is equal to or higher than the turnover of some states.

    Li Kuanli expressed gratitude for the meeting and noted that thanks to the policy of openness of the two heads of state, relations between Tashkent and the regions of China are actively developing, as the city is the center of the economy, politics and tourism of Uzbekistan. He stressed that the economic and logistical trends of Tashkent are in tune with their goals, after which he introduced the members of the delegation.

    During the meeting, the participants of the Chinese delegation voiced their proposals for cooperation in the field of food production, medical equipment and testers, the creation of plant nurseries, biochemistry, light industry, etc.

    In addition, investors are interested in establishing their production in the industrial zone.

    At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue in order to reach specific agreements and their implementation.
