Uzbek-South Korean political consultations were held in Tashkent

    On March 25, 2024, Tashkent hosted the 16th round of Uzbek-South Korean inter-ministerial political consultations.

    The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Chong Beng Won.

    The sides exchanged views on the broad agenda of Uzbek-South Korean relations and identified priority areas for the development of cooperation in the near future. Special attention was paid to the schedule of upcoming events at various levels and formats.

    During the political consultations, the issues of building up trade, economic and investment ties took a central place. Mutual interest was confirmed in increasing the indicators of bilateral trade and the implementation of joint projects in such areas as infrastructure, logistics, transport, ICT and renewable energy.

    The agenda of the talks also includes issues of improving the contractual and legal framework of bilateral relations, deepening cooperation in the field of labor migration, strengthening cooperation within multilateral structures, as well as a number of aspects of an international and regional nature, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
