The organizers are the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Valdai International Discussion Club.
The event will bring together prominent experts from government agencies, analytical and research centers, and business circles in Uzbekistan and Russia.
The conference will be attended by Uzbek Director of ISMI Eldor Aripov, khokim of Surkhandarya region Ulugbek Kosimov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Oleg Pekos, Director of the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umid Abidkhodjaev and others.
The Russian delegation will include Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexey Yerkhov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Andrey Bystritsky, Chairman of the Board of the Valdai Club Foundation, Fedor Lukyanov, Director of Scientific Work at the Valdai Club Development and Support Fund, Timofey Bordachev, Program Director of the Valdai Club, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Minister of Tatarstan Herman Lerner and others.
The main goal of the conference is to strengthen the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership with an emphasis on promising areas of cooperation in trade, economic, investment, transport and technological spheres.
The focus is on issues of ensuring security and stability in Eurasia, the development of industrial cooperation, investment and digitalization, as well as transport connectivity and the formation of international trade infrastructure.
A special feature of the upcoming conference will be the organization of a special interregional session with the participation of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the discussion, representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan and the city of Termez will be able to discuss current projects of industrial, investment and humanitarian cooperation in a practical format, as well as outline concrete steps to further promote interregional cooperation.
The Conference is a traditional platform for maintaining an expert dialogue in the format of bilateral meetings. The event is planned to be held in the city of Termez, Surkhandarya region, on the basis of the Termez International Trade Center, which is a strategically important transport hub on the southern borders of Uzbekistan.
