A mobile number transfer website has been launched in Uzbekistan in a test mode mnp.uz. Thanks to the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service being implemented, a mobile network subscriber will be given the opportunity to save his number when switching to another mobile operator within the same country.

The MNP service is available from telecom operators of the Republic of Uzbekistan operating under the GSM standard. The Ministry of Digital Technologies noted that with its appearance it became possible to change the operator, which is not satisfied with the price, quality and other parameters, while keeping the old number, and with it all your contacts. Thus, the subscriber will be able to choose the best conditions, prices, tariffs without losing his number.

The website provides steps on how to use this service. First, you need to apply for the transfer of the number at the office of the mobile operator where you plan to transfer the number, or through a Single portal of interactive public services my.gov.uz.

Next, you need to pay for the service of transferring the subscriber number. The payment is a one-time payment and is made to the operator to whom the subscriber leaves (the recipient operator) at the conclusion of a new service agreement. The amount of the subscriber's payment for the subscriber number transfer service is regulated by each mobile operator independently.

The operator accepts the application from the subscriber, enters into a new contract with the subscriber and issues him a new SIM card with a temporary number from the numbering range assigned to this operator and connected to the tariff plan specified by the subscriber in the application.

At the time of signing the contract, the SIM card with a temporary number is active and the subscriber can use the communication services of the new operator (recipient operator) before the actual transfer.

In case of refusal to transfer, the subscriber can continue to use the communication services of the recipient's operator by means of the SIM card issued to him. In case of successful transfer, the recipient operator replaces the temporary number on the SIM card with the number specified by the subscriber in the application as portable.

And the last step is to wait for the SMS about the successful transfer of the subscriber number. The new operator (recipient operator) informs the subscriber about the successful completion of the transfer of the subscriber number by sending an SMS message to the SIM card with the transferred number.

It is noted that the procedure for transferring a phone number can take up to 8 working hours from the moment of filing an application.

To receive the MNP service, an individual must provide an identity document for which the registration of the transferable number was made: passport, ID card or passport. Legal entities provide the TIN of the organization.

If, in the event of a change of mobile operator, the subscriber is not satisfied with the quality of the services provided, it is possible to return to the previous operator after 30 calendar days.

Recall that today there are 5 GSM mobile operators operating on the territory of Uzbekistan: Beeline, Mobi.uz, Ucell, UzMobile, Humans.
