The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has registered new amendments to the rules of internal control aimed at combating the legalization of illegal income.
According to the changes developed by the Central Bank in cooperation with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes at the Prosecutor General's Office, payment services will be required to tighten the verification of individual transactions.
All payment organizations are required to identify customers when registering new accounts in mobile applications.
Additional control measures are being introduced for money transfers. If the transaction amount exceeds 30 billion rubles (11.25 million soums), the service is required to request extended information about the sender and recipient, including their full identification information. When conducting transactions in the amount of 500 BRV or more (187.5 million soums) Without account registration, identification also becomes mandatory.
For individuals, you will need to specify the name, series and number of your passport or ID card, as well as the date and place of birth. For legal entities - the name of the company and the individual taxpayer's number (INN). If the recipient's bank already has the necessary data about the sender, it is enough to provide his PINFL, account number or transaction ID.
In addition, payment services, payment system operators, and e-money operators will have to implement mechanisms to identify matches between customer identification data and lists of individuals suspected of financing illegal activities. The verification accuracy level of each data element must be specified separately.
