In the Khorezm region, a resident illegally kept a young lion at his home

    In the Ashgabat mahalla of the city of Urgench, during an operational raid, a young wild lion was found in a cage in the house of one of the residents.

    Another operational raid event was conducted by the control and inspection task force of the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Khorezm region together with employees of the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Urgench.

    "During the raid, the fact of illegal detention of a young wild lion in the house of citizen E.S., located in the Ashgabat mahalla of the city of Urgench, was established," the press service of the Ministry of Ecology reports.

    According to article 92 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a protocol was drawn up against the violator and a fine of 5 BRV - 1 million 700 thousand soums was imposed. The predator was temporarily assigned to the Nukus Zoo of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

    To clarify the circumstances related to where the lion was bought and from where it was brought, the collected documents on the case were sent to the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Urgench.
