WSJ: Macron offered Durov to move Telegram headquarters to Paris

    In 2018, French President Emmanuel Macron proposed to Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov to move the company's headquarters to Paris. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper, citing unnamed sources.

    According to their information, in 2018, during a confidential lunch, Macron suggested that Durov move the Telegram headquarters to the French capital. At the same time, the French leader discussed with the co-founder of Telegram granting him citizenship of this country, TASS reports.

    Nevertheless, Durov refused to move the company to Paris.
