The event took place within the framework of the China-Central Asia Forum on Human Rights Development in Tashkent. The forum was organized by the Chinese Foundation for the Development of Human Rights (CFHRD) in cooperation with the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The preamble of the Memorandum reflects the desire of the Parties to strengthen friendly relations, expand the exchange of experience and cooperation in the field of human rights, as well as promote the development of human rights between Uzbekistan and China.

According to the document, the parties will cooperate in the field of promotion and protection of human rights based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual interest.

In particular, the Memorandum provides for:

·         conducting joint research on human rights issues;

·         implementation of educational programs and dissemination of knowledge in the field of human rights;

·         development of mutually beneficial information exchange;

·         organization of joint scientific seminars and conferences;

·         assistance in fulfilling the international obligations of the two States in the field of human rights;

·         participation in the improvement of global governance in the field of human rights.

The document also defines the forms of practical interaction between the parties. This includes, in particular, the exchange of information, legislative acts, analytical materials and specialized literature in the field of the promotion and protection of human rights, as well as the exchange of experience in fulfilling international obligations.

In addition, it provides for the implementation of joint scientific programs and socially significant projects, the organization of visits and internships for employees, international conferences, seminars, round tables and training programs on human rights issues.

The parties intend to pay special attention to the preparation and publication of joint publications, as well as to strengthening international cooperation in the field of human rights.
